About a month ago I downloaded the free Instagram app onto my iPhone. It allows you to take pictures with your phone and then add filters with names like X-Pro II, Earlybird, Poprocket and 1977. You can then choose to share those images with a world of like minded photo narcissists. I’ve become quite addicted myself, the following images chronicle things I felt compelled to photograph in my life over the past 30 days or so. I currently have only two followers myself so if you have the app look me up under the moniker “jevanshead”. The images look better if you click on them.

“Let’s get out and shoot sometime,”…

March 11, 2010

… said my friend Tyler more than a year ago!.

Well you’ll be pleased to know that last night it finally happened. I’ve said it before, it’s so easy to come home from work and be lazy. I’m always so happy after I actually force myself to get out, even if just to dodge rats in my neighbourhood alleys.

As we headed home down our last alley we met Kenneth. I’ve seen Kenneth in this alley many times before, in fact if you look at this post from last summer you will see Kenneth twirling away in a few of the shots. Kenneth is a cool guy, he was happy to have us photograph him performing his baton tricks. He is really very good, a pro I would say! The next time you are walking down Cambie north of Hastings have a look in the alley, I bet you will see Kenneth. Go and say hi, he will be happy to show you his skills.

So a fun night for sure. Tyler and I have decided to make it a monthly event. Perhaps you will join us.

Clean, Quiet Rooms

November 5, 2009

I haven’t got much to say these days. That’s probably a sign that I need to get off my ass and shoot something. Speaking of signs there are clean quiet rooms for rent in Chinatown if you are interested.

I bet they’re not quiet.
